Barrette Boards

I whipped these babies up the other day in my kitchen.  I needed a cute and inexpensive gift to give a co-worker for her baby shower.  I also wanted one for myself since I have already lost several of my daughters barrettes.  The frames were on sale at Michael’s for $4.oo each.  The black and white fabric was from a bundle of quilting squares I had leftover from my desktop flip calendars.

This fabric was from the back portion of my daughter’s bed skirt.  Her bed is up against the wall so you don’t see it anyways.  This one was the first one I made and I didn’t notice that the fabric had become crooked.

I love the simple embellishments on each of them and I hope my co-worker does too!

Pretty Cash Envelopes

My family and I are following a cash envelope budget system to help manage our finances.  I decided to whip out my Silhouette and a jumbo pack of paper to create these cute cash envelopes.  I used the print and cut feature to create a tab for each category.  It makes dishing out all that cash a little cuter!

Valentine's Art

Wow, it has been awhile since I've been on to blog! I'm back to share my Valentine's Art. I made it out of Bazzil cardstock and an artist's canvas. The cherish is from a rub-on transfer I found in my scrapbooking supplies.

I think it turned out pretty cute!  I put it up on the mantle.  The mantle felt a little plain after all the Christmas decorations were put away.  Stay tuned to see what else I create for my mantle!  Hopefully, it will be before Valentine's Day :).

And to follow up with my New Year's Goals.....

My bread from my bread machine!

This was the second attempt.  The first day I attempted to make bread, it came out one big hard lump.  This time, I added one extra tablespoon of water and made sure the temperature of my water was exactly 80 degrees!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog!  Happy crafting!

Personal Docket Form

Life always seems to be in high gear. There always seems to be something that I need to get done. Of course, I always feel the need to add more to my plate. I’m not quite sure why I do this, but I do so I needed to find a better way to manage all the chaos. I came up with a simple form—my personal docket form. I was inspired by Money Saving Mom’s version, but wanted something a little more me. I was going to make a cute little notebook out of it myself and decorate it, but then I thought I should just get using it. So hopefully this will help me organize my time and thoughts.

I’ve created a section for my food journal, exercise (I put it on there in hopes that I would start doing some ), a section labeled thoughts to jot down any crafting or scrapbooking ideas, a short to do list and a section to plan ahead. I chose to keep the “to do” section small because I tend to feel overwhelmed when I think of all I need to get done. I printed out about 75 pages to start off with.

I also added a few page protectors behind the docket to add anything inspiring I came across.

I hope you like it! Feel free to take a copy here! Please share any ideas you have on home organization with me!

2011 Goals and Blog Redesign

I resolve not to make a New Year's Resolution.  Instead, I think I will make some goals to become a little more complete.  It appears that this is a very popular concept throughout the blogosphere and I have enjoyed reading everyone's list.  Here are my plans for 2011...
  1. Use my bread machine!!
  2. Make jam (according to the label on said bread machine, it can make jam)
  3. Learn to sew (already started on an apron I can wear when making jam in bread machine)
  4. Scrapbook more frequently...(maybe I can do a page on making jam) I think I might try a monthly plan, ie. for January work on pages from January's past
  5. Become more patient with children (going from one to two has been a little trying)
  6. Go on more dates with my husband!
  7. Potty train Mister Mister
  8. Start working on obtaining my bachelor's degree in Nursing!
Well, I guess that is a good start.  Also, I redesigned my blog today.  I made my first background and header.  I finally put my Adobe photoshop to use!  I like it and hope you do too!  Thanks for coming to my blog and checking it out!

From my family to yours....Happy New Year!!
